Modern Portraits is luxury portrait photography for women — built around a single idea: that a woman, at every age, deserves images of herself that feel like her.

I'm Jennifer — the photographer behind J. Renée Studios. For more than twenty years, I've been photographing women through the chapters that matter. The milestone year. The moment of becoming. The body she's worked for. The role she's grown into. The version of herself she's been waiting to be photographed as.

Every Modern Portraits session is fully guided, fully supported, and built entirely around her — alone, or with the people who define this season of her life.

Twenty Years Behind The Lens

A portrait that earns a wall.

I've been a working photographer for over twenty years. I've photographed thousands of women — at milestone birthdays, after divorces, before launches, during reinventions, and on quiet Tuesdays when they finally decided it was time.

Every session is the same: fully guided, fully supported, built around her.

The images I make are not meant to live on a phone screen for six months and disappear into a camera roll. They are meant to live where she lives — above her bed, in her dressing room, on a wall she walks past every day and remembers exactly who she was, in this chapter, right now.

These are not photographs you store. They are portraits you display.

Modern Portraits is for any woman at any age who wants a beautifully made portrait of herself — for a milestone, for a chapter, or for no reason at all beyond the quiet decision that it's time. There's no age requirement, no occasion required, and no body type that doesn't belong here.

Yes. Modern Portraits sessions can include children, a partner, or anyone who defines this season of her life. The session is built around her — she is the subject — and the people in her life are part of the portrait of who she is right now.

Modern Portraits is open to women of every age and built around an editorial portrait session. The ICONIC Experience 40+ is a signature event experience reserved for women celebrating the chapter that begins at 40 — a full-day rite of passage with editorial styling and a gala-style reveal. Both are luxury portrait experiences; ICONIC is the elevated, event-format version.

About two and a half hours, start to finish. That includes professional hair and makeup, settling in, your full session, and a few minutes to decompress before you leave. Sessions that include children may run slightly longer to accommodate breaks and wardrobe changes.

The session fee is $490 and includes professional hair and makeup, wardrobe and styling consultation, the fully guided studio session, every image retouched, and a next-day private gallery reveal. Image collections are purchased separately after your reveal and are designed around how many images you fall in love with. Most clients invest between $2,000 and $5,000 on a luxury collection.

Yes. Almost every woman who walks into a Modern Portraits session feels this way. And almost every one tells me, within the first ten minutes, that the nerves are gone. My job is to support you, guide you, and do this with you — not to put you in front of a camera and ask you to figure it out.

Most women who book me say this exact thing in our first conversation. And then they see their gallery the next day and tell me they've never loved photos of themselves more in their life. Being photogenic isn't a personality trait — it's a skill the photographer brings. You don't have to be photogenic. You just have to show up.

Yes. I offer Affirm, Klarna, and an in-house payment plan. Payment plans can be set up before your session so your images can be delivered at the time of your shoot.

Your fully retouched gallery is ready the next day for your private Zoom reveal. After you select your images, digital files are delivered within about three days. Albums and wall art take roughly three to four weeks.

I recommend booking 30–60 days in advance — Las Vegas dates fill quickly. Last-minute sessions are sometimes possible, but the calendar is rarely empty.

Me — Jennifer. I'm the only photographer at J. Renée Studios. I shoot every session personally, every frame. There are no associate photographers.
