A woman walked into my studio a little while ago, confident in her everyday life, and shaking a little anyway. She told me she trusted me. So we got to work, and I used everything I've learned over more than 20 years to help her loosen up.
Every time I turned the camera around to show her the back of it, she lit up. There she was. Her personality, her real self, right there on the screen. She couldn't wait to put those images on her wall. And the day we hung that portrait in her home, she was blown away by the whole thing.
I want that for you. That's the whole reason I built The Iconic Experience.
The Thing I Keep Seeing in Women Over 40
Something happens to a woman around 40. She steps into herself.
There's a voice in the back of her head that finally says it out loud. I'm tired of hating my body. I'm tired of feeling insignificant. She looks at what she's built and what she's survived, and she's proud. She's more confident in who she is and where she is, in her body and her mind, right now, than she has ever been.
I've had a bird's-eye view of this for two decades. I watch it happen over and over. And here's the part that breaks my heart a little. Most of these women have almost no beautiful photos of themselves.
They've spent years behind the camera, not in front of it. A recent survey of more than 500 mothers found two thirds said it makes them sad not to have more pictures of themselves from this part of their lives. They were always the one taking the photo, never the one in it. So a woman gets to 50, steps fully into herself, and goes looking for one good image that shows who she is now. And she comes up empty.
I want to document this. The confidence, the presence, the woman she's become. That deserves to exist somewhere other than her memory.

There will be hors d'oeuvres. The whole evening is built to celebrate these women and everything they've done with their lives.
Each woman is featured in the Iconic volume one magazine. A little of her story, what makes her feel iconic, and her own image. Everyone gets their own copy, and everyone is on the cover of her own magazine. Your face. Your name. Your story. On a cover.
One of your images will be displayed at the gala too, proudly, the way art should be. That's the night. Thirty women in one room, celebrated, seen, holding a magazine with themselves on the front.
